So, the three behemoths from each universe face each other in the ring of combat. In the first corner we have the Overlord! This ultra-heavy chinese tank is armed with dual ZPT-98 125mm cannons, and can be upgraded with a Gattling Cannon, a Propaganda Towers or a Bunker. It can also be equipped with a nuclear reactor, greatly boosting it's manueverability, top it all of with Depleted Uranium Shells and you have a force to fear.In our next corner we have the Apocalypse Tank! This monster truly shows the might of the Soviet army, also makes Cappuccino. Armed with dual 125mm Drakon HEAT Cannons, a Shchuka Magnetic Harpoon and a pair of Myasorubka Meat Grinder Threads, this tank is more than enough to brutally pound any opponent. Capable of pulling enemy units to it and grinding them into scrap allows this tank to challenge enemies even more powerful than itself. And finally, in the final corner we have the Mammoth MK.
III, more commonly known as the Mammoth Tank! Armed with two brutal 125mm cannons and dual 4.75-inch missile pods, this beast can handle any threat and showcases the meaning of heavy armour.
Upgradable with dual railguns to replace the 125mm cannons, this tank can punch through even the thickest armour with ease. Add the ability to soak immense amounts of damage and you have the ultimate threaded war machine. Designed for the Global Defense Army as a way to dominate the battlefield, there's next to nothing this tank can't handle. Now, let's have the three combatants fight in different categories.
Armour: Firepower: Versatility: Mobility:I chose like this: Armour: Mammoth Tank. Seriously, these just never, ever, die. Firepower: Apocalypse Tank. This tank will pound your everything so hard you'll regret being born. Versatility: Overlord. The upgrades allow this tank to be effective in every situation, doesn't matter if you fight air, vehicle or infantry.
Mobility: Overlord. This one was tight between the Apocalypse and the Overlord. But in the end the Overlord won thanks to the nuclear reactor. Now, it's your turn to be the judge. Armor: Mammoth Tank - Mainly because the stuff it's made from (Tiberium) has singlehandedly accelerated weapons technology by decades, among many other things. For that thing to shrug off 105mm cannons from Scorpions, high-power laser or ion beams from Avatar mechs and Annihilator Tripods respectively would take some pretty good (and no doubt thick armor).
The Apocalypse, made by the same geniuses who in another time thought giant squids were a viable anti ship weapon, looks and is a mass-produced pair of guns on treds with a few red stars to make it sexy. Plus that generator looks pretty darn exposed, armor aside.
And the Overlord, HA! While that thing is indeed a tough nut to crack for the opponents its used against (low-tech terrorists and 'Mericans), I just don't see it any more special than a first generation Mammoth armor-wise.Weapons: Also Mammoth, because of aforementioned Tiberium support and barring that, railguns. Sure, the Apocalypse has its nice mag-harpoon, but it needs to actually get close enough to grind its opponent, not likely because railguns - really, it goes without saying that a super fast shell is going to do quite a bit more damage than a conventionally fired (slower) one.
The Overlord again just pales in comparison again. It's main guns match the Apocalypse at best. A Gatling gun isn't going to do squat against a Mammoth or even an Apocalypse in a meaningful amount of time.
A propaganda tower is useless - no it cannot magically cause the tank and nearby friendlies to heal, that's just a game mechanic - and even if it was not, it probably wouldn't make enough of a difference. On the other hand, packing a bunker full of Tank Hunters would likely do some damage.Versatility: The Overlord wins here mainly because of its ability to be upgraded, albeit only once.
The Gatling is good against infantry - but so is running them over to 'lubricate the treads' - and aircraft obviously, but the bunker would allow even more versatility in that one can swap out the infantry riding to better adapt to the situation, and sure, having a loudspeaker yell out words of encouragement has its place too. Meanwhile, the Apocalypse has no AA capability whatsoever (but then again, meant to be easy to produce), while the Mammoth's AA function more like fire support to help out a more suitable vehicle like a Pitbull than actual aerial deterrent.Maneuverability: Apocalypse - For such big bulky monsters of metal, they're swift.
If the pilot was smart, and lucky enough to survive the first couple salvos of the Mammoth, he could possibly strafe the larger tank faster than its turret could swivel - though the missiles would still be an annoyance - and get in close enough to use its grinders. The Overlord possesses neither such traits in any reasonable quantity.Overall: Mammoth because of GDI's advanced tech compared to the awesome-looking-but-cheap Soviets and not-so-awesome-looking-but-also-cheap Chinese (I tried not to rely on game mechanics too much).
